Cable-stayed Bridge over Xingu river in Brasil

The construction of the Cable Stayed Bridge over Xingu River in Brazil has commenced, with the Basic and Detailed Design developed by Studio DMA.

The bridge has an overall length of 745.4 meters, with a central span of 424 meters. The deck structure is designed in reinforced concrete for the side spans, and composite steel-concrete structure for the central span.
The two pairs of towers are in reinforced concrete, standing 136 meters and 127.95 meters tall, with differing heights to accommodate the varying road profile connecting the two riverbanks at different elevations. The 120 stay cables are configured in a harp layout.
Construction began in early 2024, and to date, the sub-foundations, foundations, and piers on the left side have been completed. Currently, deep foundations for the tower are underway.
The construction is in charge of the Joint Venture between the Brasilian Contractors Cidade – Construbase.
